Punto e a Capo: the Debut Work by Pop-Rap Musician Roccia

Punto e a Capo is a work by songwriter Giuseppe Roccia, aka Roccia.

Punto e a Capo

Punto e a Capo means in English “Back to the Drawing Board”. The project took shape towards the end of April 2018. A path that lasted almost fifteen months, in a total enclosure, to seek and create the alchemy that could best fit the songs. Punto e a Capo represents for the artist a strong desire to recount past life situations in order to overcome them, to file them away peacefully, but without ever forgetting them so as to start again with more determination than before.

Although it is not a concept album, Roccia thinks that this could be the fil rouge that links the seven tracks, produced by David Zampini. On June 28, 2020, the official video of “Open Bar” was published on YouTube and 24 July 2020 was the day of the radio date for the album’s top track.

Roccia’s bio

Giuseppe Roccia, aka Roccia, is a musician born in 1990 in Bergamo. Besides cultivating his passion for music, Roccia is a football fan and in life, he is an educator.

He loves sunny extrovert, and cheerful people and filling his life and music with colour. Among the bright colours, Roccia is madly in love with the orange colour and, given his attraction to everything colourful, likes to call himself ‘a Haribo bear’.

He doesn’t like to define his sound within particular labels, although it could be framed as Pop with a strong matrix rooted in Rap, a kind of Hip-Pop. It is thanks to this passion that the artist has for mash-ups that in the rhythm of Punto e a capo we can recognise a mixture of different genres, allowing Roccia to move from indie-pop tracks  (Nota Audio) to tracks with a more rock flavour (Ristretto), through to purely rap tracks (Felpa Arancio), the predominant genre throughout the project.
